CSA

Welcome!

What is a CSA?

CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture) are a popular option for consumers interested in buying seasonal food and produce directly from a local farmer.

How does it work?

We, “the farmer”, offer a certain number of shares to the public. A “share” is a box of our highest-quality, locally-grown produce. Interested consumers purchase a CSA membership and in return receive a share of the current-crop offering once a week for 24 weeks (mid-May thru Oct). Members then pick up their share at the drop-site listed in the Membership Agreement.

Benefits:

Experience freshness of produce straight from the field Avoid synthetic fertilizers and pesticides with all naturally grown produce Savings of unneeded distribution and certifications passed on to the consumer Show support for small local farms and your community Try interesting new recipes and add freshness to your palate

Cost

By selling memberships in advance of the growing season, you help reduce the burden of up-front costs for the farmer. Your membership fees provide us with money to purchase seed and equipment before the growing season begins, allowing us to more-efficiently serve our members.

Volunteer Work

Volunteer work is encouraged and welcome, please come and get to know your farmer!  The service of volunteers will help us keep costs low for the consumer and provide necessary assistance in daily operational tasks.  But more than that, volunteering is an opportunity for you as the customer to get to know the people that serve you, as well as the methodology and practices we employ. Plus, we think you will have fun too! All members are encouraged to volunteer at least two Saturdays over the 24 week season. As of now, we will be accepting volunteer help on Saturdays from 9-12 for the entirety of the growing season. If you’re interested email us now! A taste of what’s to come…
